In simple septoplasty procedures, you will not. A simple incision will be performed inside the nose and the septum will be reached through the mucosa, then septum deviation will be corrected by removing the excess bone or cartilage.

The procedure will be performed inside of the nose, and so you will not have face swelling or bruising. These findings are occurring in the case of rhinoplasty, which means aesthetic correction of the nose.

Occasionally, especially in advanced cases a small incision have to be done in inferior part of nose, this is called as “open septoplasty technique”. In that condition, your surgeon will give you adequate information about this.
