The surgery can be performed by local anesthesia (regional anesthesia-only nasal area) or general anesthesia (completely unconscious). In case of surgery with general anesthesia, oral intake of solid food or drinking of fluids should be avoided at least 6 hours before the surgery.
If there is any medication that is used continuously (anti-coagulants, anti-hypertensive agents, insulin and oral hypoglisemics), you should inform your surgeon. Food supplements, vitamins or herbal tea should be discontinued 1 week before the surgery.
